Wow! How Time Fly’s

Apr 12th, 2012 Posted in Blogs, Cards | no comment »

Wow! How time fly’s by.  It’s been a month, (actually for than a month) since my last post.  And my New Years resolution was first get healthy and lose weight, which has been happening slowly, that’s fine and second post regularly on my blog, which I have been bad and not doing.  I have so much to share and I get busy doing other things and tell myself “I’ll work on that tomorrow” and tomorrow comes and goes and there goes another day by.  This year has been going by soooo fast, I can’t believe it.  Here it is Easter time already and I’m trying to finish up my cards to send out.  They just might get them a day or two after Easter, haaaaa!  Anyways, I’m going to share today some projects and swaps that I’ve done in the past weeks.  And also, I’ve decided to add to my posts some cool ideas, organizational ideas, links to other crafters craft rooms ( love looking what other people are doing in their craft rooms) and things that I find are interesting.  Maybe you see something that interests you.  Also, if you have a before and after craft room or organizational ideas that you would like to share email me with your information and I’d like to link to your blog.

So, onto what I’ve been doing……

I found this awesome blog “Valita’s Designs & Fresh Folds“.  She does some really awesome creations with punches.  So I found this card Simple Punch Art Tulips.  So a friend of mine, Janet and I, decided we wanted to make this card.  I think they turned out pretty nice.  Janet’s, I thinkturned out a lot nicer than mine.  I could find my oval cutter so I had to create something a little different.

Here’s Valita’s card that we were casing….

Here is Janet’s card.  I just love her colors and she did an awesome job on it.  Great job Janet!

And here’s my card.

So visit Valita’s blog.  You will just find all sorts of ideas.

Happy Birthday Dad

Feb 15th, 2012 Posted in Cards | no comment »

Well this is a belated Happy Birthday to my dad.  His birthday was February 11th and he turned 85 years young.  We had a sort of a surprise birthday celebration for him.  He knew we were giving him a party and he thought it was just going to be a few family and friends coming.  Well it was family and friends but the friends were his friends from years back that he hadn’t seen for many years.  And some friends that he grew up with back when he was young.

So today I’m going to share with you the invitation that I made and some of the decorations.

Here is the inside of his invitation.  I didn’t get a picture of the outside, I’ll have to find an invitation and get a picture to show you.  It was really nice.  I really liked it, if I have to say so myself.

Doesn’t he look great. And what a handsome man.

Next these are the decorations.

I made sour cream containers for the favors and they were filled with chocolate minis and kisses.

The front view and the side view. The label has a picture of my dad and the saying says “Thank you for joining me in celebrating 85 years of wonderful memories”. Sorry the pictures aren’t very clear. I made about 100 of these. Wow! I had sour cream containers everywhere. :)

Next are some of the rosettes I made for the table decorations.

The colors were black, white & red. So I used some dp papers that I had to make the rosettes. The middle was SU scallop circle punch, 1 1/4″ and 1 3/8″ circle punches and SU So Many Scallops stamp set. Birthday cake with candles stamped with Real Red Ink. The candle flames, I used gold Stickles and on the scallops I used silver Stickles. We put them back to back and glued a skewr in between them.

Here is the table decoration.

Well that’s it for now. Until next time. Have a Great Day!
